Saturday, April 16th at 12pm.
Christ Church Cathedral is the Regimental Church of the BC Regiment, Formerly the Duke of Connaught's Own Rifles, The Irish Fusiliers (now amalgamated with the BCR) and the Seaforth Highlanders. Following the retirement of the colours of a regiment the protocol is to take the colours (regimental flags) to the regimental church and deposit them there permanently.
The Regiment's new Colours were presented upon its Centennial in November of 2010 and therefore two of the retired Colours are being put to rest with full honours.
This is done in a very poignant and moving liturgy and will take place at Christ Church Cathedral, Saturday, April 16th, 2011 at 12 noon. Parking will be available in the Park Place Parkade at a cost of $5.50 per car, flat rate.
