Deep Place: The Labyrinth from the Outside In
A free workshop with facilitator Coll Thrush
Friday, 9 September, 7 to 9pm(beginning at the Labyrinth at St.Pauls, 1140 Jervis Street, Vancouver)
For many, the
Labyrinth, like other sacred spaces, is a refuge, a place where we can retreat from the world to find stillness, peace, and connection with Spirit. In this workshop, we’ll be approaching it a bit differently, using basic mindfulness practices to experience the landscape of the neighbourhood around St. Paul’s, opening to its teachings and its needs and carrying those with us into the Labyrinth. Bigleaf maple? Crow? The man on the bench out front? The North Shore Mountains? Come see who or what speaks to you, and explore what it means to combine Labyrinth practice with a sense of place. We’ll begin the workshop promptly at 7:10pm, followed by walking (including time spent outdoors) and an optional discussion.
Sunday's event is
Requiem and Reflection: Ten Years On 7:30am - 12:30pm
Ten years on, the events of September 11 continue to reverberate in the lives of people around the world. The Labyrinth at St Paul's (1140 Jervis Street, Vancouver) will offer a space for walking in remembrance and reflection accompanied by music from requiems and music from many lands, cultures, and traditions. All are welcome.
