Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2024

While our minds are starting to focus on Advent and Christmas preparations, please take some time to read through the resources for the Weekof Prayer for Christian Unity linked below.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an annual ecumenical event to bring the many flavours of Christianity together in prayer and conversaiton.

Next year the octave is from Thursday, Jan 18, 2024 through Thursday, Jan 25. You can read about the histroy of this event here.

This is an opportnity for your community to reach out to a local congregation and invite them to pray with you, have coffee, and learn about one another's traditions.

The World Council of Churches has prepared liturgical resources to assist you in this. You can find them here, or download the attached file.

The theme this year is “You shall love the Lord your God ...and your neighbour as yourself…”
