Description:

The Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster is seeking applications for the position of Rector of the Church of the Epiphany, Surrey. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Church of the Epiphany describes itself in these words:

  • We are a place of new beginnings in the heart of the Guildford District of Surrey.
  • We endeavour to make possible for us to embody the same patience Jesus extends to each of us: embracing people in their process, without forcing them to be further down the road than they already are.
  • Our hopes and aspirations for the next three to five years begin with our long-term goal of a new Church building.
  • We as a Parish look forward to implementing community groups, opening our space to many recovery and healing groups.

Some notable features of the community life include:

  • A vibrant Arabic-language Chaldean Christian community active and engaged within the parish.
  • A property redevelopment plan that is well underway with the support of a property development consultant and Diocesan leadership.
  • Located in a rapidly growing city in BC’s Lower Mainland.

Some qualities the parish is seeking in their next rector are:

  • Strong knowledge of Scripture
  • Spiritually alive, Christ-like and a strong Faith
  • Friendly with a sense of humour
  • Trauma informed
