Jane Dittrich of Christ Church Cathedral teamed up with Gwen Ingham of St. Mary's, Kerrisdale, Janet Hamilton of St. John's, Shaughnessy and Cameron Gutjahr of St. Mary's, Kerrisdale to ride through scenic Richmond, via farms, pumpkin patches and along the banks of the Fraser river as "Team 50KM" the 50 kilometre component of the diocesan PWRDF participation in the October 3 - Ride for Refuge. Jane was happy to raise some money as she had only committed to the ride nine days before.
Diocesan PWRDF Unit Chair, Peter Goodwin said, "It was a tremendous event and we far surpassed the fundraising target of $3000. We had a total of 13 riders from 6 parishes riding distances of 10, 25 and 50 kms. The current total raised by Team PWRDF Vancouver showing on the Ride for Refuge website is $6550.00. Fundraising continues until October 21 so folks can still donate to Team PWRDF Vancouver by visiting the Ride for Refuge website.
