The City of Richmond hosted an evening of Interfaith Discussion in Council Chambers on Wednesday evening, April 14th, 2010. The Reverend Margaret Cornish, Incumbent of St. Alban, Richmond was invited, along with a Richmond Rabbi,an Imam and a Sikh leader to speak of their desire for relationship and the possibilities that might emerge from this desire.
With Margaret in the photo below are: Rabbi Claudio Kaiser-Blueth, Imam Mohammed Ajjeh, and Sikh leader Balwant Sanghera.
The event was well-attended and the energy was very positive.
Representatives of these faith traditions are meeting again to discuss the possibility of an Interfaith Community Garden initiative in Richmond, and, at harvest time, a grand and huge 'block party' along the 'Highway of Heaven' (No. 5 Road) where there are mosques, temples, a synagogue and church.
