PD Grants - Applications Open

As the summer unfolds and July turns into August, many of us begin to think about September and the return to fall programming and more in the parishes of the Diocese of New Westminster. With that in mind notices have gone out to ordained and lay leaders in the diocese to let them know that the Synod Office staff are now receiving applications of the 2024 Parish Development Grants Cycle.

Parish Development Grants are designed to support parishes in their ministry-related initiatives. Some examples would include projects that aim to increase attendance and stewardship through new liturgies, initiatives that focus on forming children in the Christian faith, and pilot programs with broader benefits to the Church that are sustainable in the long run.

The application process for the 2024 Grants is now open. You can find all the necessary information and forms on the diocesan website. The timeline for the application process is as follows:

• September 8, 2023: Parishes should submit a completed application form (no cover letter required) to pdgrants@vancouver.anglican.ca. Further consultation and clarification may follow with the Parish Development Grants team.
• September 23, 2023: The Parish Development Grants Team will review all grant applications.
• October 14 & 21, 2023: The selected parishes will have the opportunity to meet with the Parish Development Grants Team to discuss their applications and projects.
• December 14, 2023: A final list of recommended proposals will be approved, and granting decisions will be completed by December 18, 2023.
