“Paddling for All Saints”, Mission, took place on Saturday, September 24, 2011. What an incredible day! Thirty-seven participants took part in this years “Pioneer Challenge”, raising in excess of $4,500.00. Our group was joined by four Canada World Youth folks presently in Mission, one each from Nova Scotia, Quebec, Nunavut, and the Ukraine.
Our teams, “Mighty Saints” and “Slippery Saints” paddled in two majestic 35 foot Voyageur canoes; we enjoyed the beauty of Alouette Lake, the fog lifting off the water, the sunny weather, the fellowship, working as a team, and afterwards the wonderful lunch that was prepared for us on our return to All Saints parish hall to celebrate the efforts of all the paddlers.
