The Chrism Mass is the liturgical service during which clergy renew their vows of ordination and the oils to be used for confirmation, baptism, ordination and anointing are blessed.
This year during the Chrism Mass Archbishop John Stephens will be formally installed as the Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon. Former metropolitan, Bishop Lynne McNaughton will preach during the service.
Following the service, clergy are invited to attend a special lunch at the Cathedral.
Also after the service clergy may pick up the newly blessed oils for use at their parish.
