Following the inspiration of Harvest Thanksgiving, a committee from St. Stephen’s West Vancouver Community Singers turned the lavender harvested from the flower beds of the church into a variety of small gifts to raise money for the choir.
Among the items created were sachets, teas and shortbreads all containing lavender. There was a raffle for many lavender related prizes, that took place while guests drank lavender tea and listened to piano music played by Dianne McKinnon, the choir accompanist.
This novel idea, the inspiration of Caroline Sutherland raised $400 for the Community Singers.
The Tea that took place after the principal Celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday, October 20 was well attended, attracting many visitors to St.Stephen’s.
