Following the success of the first Madoka Benefit Concert held on March 3, 2012 at Holy Cross Japanese- Canadian Anglican Church to help support the victims of Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, Holy Cross Anglican Church is presenting a second Benefit Concert on July 28, 2012, 7pm at Christ Church Cathedral.
This time, the benefit concert is uniquely partnered with
Tonari Gumi (Japanese Canadian Volunteer Association). This association is deeply rooted in the Japanese-Canadian community in Vancouver and has been helping many people for many years. Teaming up with Tonari Gumi based on the vision “compassion and friendship”, Holy Cross Anglican Church aims at both fundraising and building a friendship with this locally well-known organization as part of Holy Cross’s mission to nurture friendships across diverse communities, and across the ocean and to help cultivate compassionate communities.
For Holy Cross, the funds raised will be directed to Nippon Sei Ko Kai’s (Anglican Church in Japan)
“Let Us Walk Together” project to support Madoka Arahama. This project was introduced to Holy Cross by the Rev. Douglas Fenton, Director for Ministry and Mission, Diocese of New Westminster. Tonari Gumi’s share of the funds raised will be directed to their New Building Renovation Fund.
Tickets are $20 and $10 for children. Tax receipts will be issued for additional donations over $20.00
