Dismantling Racism Updates
After much discussion with those who give leadership to the Dismantling Racism Workshops for our Diocese, it became clear that there needed to be some changes.It has proven a challenge for a small group of volunteers consistently to offer an effective workshop six times a year. Therefore a new design will be put in place for this very important programme.
Beginning this spring, the Dismantling Racism Workshop will be held twice a year. It will have more leaders at each session which will allow for a significantly larger group. This will limit choices for clergy who must take the workshop for the first time or renew their accreditation, and it may mean each of you will have to travel farther to a session. You are asked to make every effort to attend the workshop on the dates offered and are reminded that taking this workshop every five years remains a condition of your licence. It remains your responsibility to be aware of when your accreditation expires and to register to renew-a courtesy reminder message will be sent to you from the Bishop’s Office.
Dismantling Racism 2024 Workshops
The 2024 Dismantling Racism Workshops will be held on:
- Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St Helen, Surrey (10787 128th Street)
- Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Synod Office (1410 Nanton Avenue, Vancouver).
Sessions begin at 8:45 am and are usually finished by 4:00 pm. Please bring a bag lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided.
Registration is now open for the April 27th session.
