Clergy and Staff News Around the Diocese

The Venerable Richard Leggett will be retiring as Archdeacon of Westminster at the end of March, 2023. He will continue as Vicar of Holy Trinity Cathedral until the end of the year. The Reverend Ruth Monette, Rector of St. Stephen the Martyr, Burnaby has been appointed Archdeacon of Westminster effective April 1. Both Ruth and the Executive Archdeacon and Archdeacon of Vancouver, the Venerable Philippa Pride will be collated at the Chrism Mass, Tuesday, April 4, 12:10pm at Christ Church Cathedral.

Lauren Pinkney has been appointed diocesan Missioner for Youth. She begins a part-time role to equip and engage leaders and youth and be the key support person to the Diocesan Youth Movement (DYM). She will be taking on many of the responsibilities for supporting youth ministry that the Missioner for Christian Formation had as that role changes to include the development of a new Learning Centre for Mission and Formation. Lauren brings advanced education, years of experience, and tremendous passion and ambition for youth ministry in this time and place. Her first event in this new role will be the “Make Way” youth sleepover at the Cathedral on March 31. The new contact address for youth ministry in the diocese is: youth@vancouver.anglican.ca
