"For his fearless commitment to truth, justice and his compassion for those excluded, for his pursuit of change in an institution, rooted for millennia, in conservatism and tradition, it is my privilege to award the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal to the Right Reverend Bishop Michael Ingham."
The preceding paragraph is the final paragraph of the Citation written by the Hon. Dr. Hedy Fry presented to Bishop Michael upon the receipt of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, January 17th, 2013.

In a website news article last month focusing on the receipt of the medal by three members of St. Christopher's, West Vancouver , diocesan communications promoted that there would be an article in the April issue of the diocesan publication, Topic listing as many of the recipients of the medal associated with the Diocese of New Westminster as possible. This has proven difficult as the Medal Award ceremonies are still taking place and official photographs take a few weeks to be delivered. Diocesan communications now hopes to have a feature article on medal recipients around the diocese in the May issue but we thought it would be appropriate to post this story, Bishop Michael's Citation and the official photo from the award ceremony on the website now.
The photograph and citation were received by mail February 27th, 2013 the day after the Very Reverend Peter Elliott, Dean and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral received the medal in Victoria from Premier Christy Clark.
If anyone reading this has information about individuals associated with our diocese who have received this honour please let diocesan communications know.
