National Archbishop Chris Harper joined the Synod staff meeting on Dec. 6. He spoke about the importance of community, listening, and learning from one another. He told a story about stepping back to look at the beauty and hope of the big picture of God's love for each of us. He reminded us of one of his principles to “never say never” to the will of God.
Archbishop Chris and his wife, Tracy, were in the Diocese of New Westminster the week of Dec.4-9. Following the staff meeting, Deirdre Thornton presented Archbishop Chris with a beaded stole her father, the Rev'd. Herbert O'Driscoll, had treasured and now needed to return to the Indigenous community. Sabian Rawcliffe also joined Synod staff to present a report on his activities with healing through cultural art therapy in this region.
