Course at Sorrento July 26-August 1st
The Rev. Margaret Marquardt and Mambo Masinda are co-leading this. We have room for two (2) more families. Each family has a cabana and all meals provided. There aren’t any costs to the family.
Mambo is a Settlement Worker in Burnaby and came as refugee years ago from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Margaret is working with the Burnaby Neighbourhood House and in this capacity works with Mambo and many of the refugee families in the area.
This is the fourth year of this course which our diocese has supported financially (for 5 families to go to Sorrento) Usually we have more people than we can accommodate, but this year with work and school and family issues, we still have 2 spaces open.
The adults need to have English skills which allows them to be in conversation with the other adults in the program.
While the adults meet in the morning with Mambo and Margaret, the children are in their various programs.
Whatever their religious adherence, they would need to be comfortable in the Sorrento context which is of course welcoming and respectful. Please e-mail the Rev. Margaret Marquardt by the end of May if there is a family to suggest or for any further information.
