Christ Church Cathedral will be the venue Sunday, August 14th for the Ordination of Martin Elfert a Christ Church Cathedral parishioner and postulant of the Diocese of New Westminster. Martin is to be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate. Bishop James E. (Jim) Waggoner, Jr. Bishop of the Diocese of Spokane was originally scheduled to ordain Martin but due to some travel document problems he will not be able to attend. In his stead, the Bishop of the Diocese of Oregon, the Right Reverend Michael Hanley will ordain Martin in preparation for his curacy at St. John the Evangelist, Cathedral, Diocese of Spokane.
The preacher will be Martin's Father-in-law, former Incumbent of St. John the Divine, Victoria, Archdeacon Bob MacRae.
