On Tuesday May 29th, St. Faith’s was awarded one of six grants from the City of Vancouver for Homelessness in Action Week 2012. On Sat. Oct 13, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. St. Faith’s will be hosting “Take a Bite of Winter” -- a chili and baked potato lunch for people in the community to come by for a meal and pick up winter clothing (no charge). Clothing will be items most needed for low income residents, people who are homeless and people who are at risk of homelessness -- coats, blankets, sleeping bags, mittens, and scarves (used and in good condition) and new socks, underwear, and boots. They are also partnering with the Marpole Place Neighbourhood House to produce a community resource guide to assist people in the Kerrisdale/Marpole area to connect with existing community programs for food, housing and other dignity resources.
