Saturday, April 29, 2017 was a big day for Spring fundraising sales around the Diocese of New Westminster. These sales included a: Plant Sale at St. Helen’s, West Point Grey; Jumble Sale at St. Mary’s, Kerrisdale which saw almost 1000 customers served by 140 volunteers from the parish; the extremely popular Rummage Sale at St. Philip’s, Dunbar always well-attended; and the Garage and Plant Sale at St. Agnes, North Vancouver.

Attendance has been boosted at these sales in recent years thanks to free online listing services like craigslist and inexpensive targeted Facebook ads.

Prior to the doors opening at 10am, there was a line-up of 200 people outside the rear laneway entrance to the St. Agnes’ parish hall and people poured in to get the bargains when the doors opened.

According to St. Agnes’ rector the Ven. Stephen Muir, the annual sale regularly earns about $4,000 for the ministry of the parish.
