A big shout out to the folks at St. George's, Maple Ridge for supporting #WeSeeYou by The Ballantyne Project raising awareness about life in remote Indigenous communities, Canada's history and the on-going challenges faced by Indigenous People in our country.
Their first #WeSeeYou Day will be held on January 11, 2021. Our goal is to let youth and young adults living in remote Indigenous communities know that they are no longer an invisible segment of our society. That we see them. It is also to acknowledge the Residential School & 60's Scoop Survivors to let them know that they have been heard and that we see them.
Along with the accompanying photographs on their Facebook page The Ballantyne Project folks shared this message:
Canada Post is probably overwhelmed with the number of large flat rate boxes being shipped these days. This is just one of the shipments they received today. St. George's Anglican Church in Maple Ridge did a collection of activity supplies and filled 17 boxes that are now on route to a remote First Nation in Saskatchewan.
Thank you so much to St. George's church and to everyone else who has already shipped boxes or is busy filling boxes with supplies as part of our #WeSeeYou campaign!
