Bishop Michael Ingham has announced that the Reverend Jeremy Clark-King currently Incumbent at St. Martin’s North Vancouver has been appointed Interim Priest-in-Charge at St. Christopher’s West Vancouver effective, September 1st, 2011.
This will be a two year appointment.
Jeremy’s appointment comes four weeks prior to the official retirement of current St. Christopher’s Incumbent, the Venerable Lou Rivers, June 30th, 2011.
Archdeacon Lou was installed as rector of St. Christopher’s, November 1st, 1987 so he will begin his retirement just four months shy of completing 24 years of ministry at the West Van church.
Lou will also be retiring as Archdeacon of Capilano. A successor has not yet been named.
Jeremy was installed as rector of St. Martin’s February 1st, 2005 not long after he and his partner Ellen (the Venerable Ellen Clark-King, Priest Associate, Christ Church Cathedral, Archdeacon of Burrard) arrived from the UK to being their ministries in Canada.
In addition to his ministry as Incumbent of a parish, Jeremy has been very active in regional ministry, taking leadership in North Vancouver Deanery MAP and at the diocesan level, chairing various committees and instrumental in the development of the Diocesan Strategic Plan.
St. Christopher’s community will celebrate Lou’s remarkable ministry with two cabaret nights in the Parish Hall. Apparently, both nights are sold out!
