Clergy Orientation Day

13 of the 21 clergy, new to the diocese in the last 3 years, either through ordination or transfer from other dioceses attended the all day event.
The day began with a Celebration of the Eucharist at 9:30 am. Following worship, Bishop Michael welcomed the clergy and gave a brief outline of the agenda
The 13 clergy divided into two groups, one group stayed in the Synod office conference room to meet with the program staff and the other group went up to the 16th floor conference room of 401 West Georgia to enjoy the excellent view and liaise with the business staff.
After about an hour the two groups switched venues.
The purpose of this morning program was to acquaint new clergy with Synod office personnel, put faces to names and clarify the different clergy and parish support functions that each staff member performs.
At 12:30 pm lunch was served in the Synod office conference room and was attended by the visiting clergy guests and staff.
After lunch, the 13 clergy returned to the 16th floor for an afternoon session with Bishop Michael where they examined the newly updated diocesan policy manual and spent some time together in dialogue.
