Archdeacon Ronald Harrison has informed diocesan communications that Bishop Michael has announced the appointment of Rev. Vivian Lam as Priest-in-Charge for the Parish of St. Matthias and St. Luke, Vancouver effective September 1st. In order to accomplish a smooth transition, Rev. Ruth Monette is extended to September 30th. Additionally, effective September 1st, Rev. Randolph Bruce will step down from his duties as Priest-in-Charge whilst continuing with his ministry at St. Michael’s Centre, All Saints, Burnaby, and as Regional Dean of Burnaby.
In more clergy news, Rev. Luisito Engnan, currently the Honorary Assistant for St. Michael’s, Surrey is shifting roles and becoming the Interim Priest-in-Charge for St. Michael’s, Surrey effective July 1st, 2012. Louie will continue the work of Interim begun by Rev. Sue Foley-Currie, who will step down on June 30th.
Not to be outdone, the Parish of St. John, North Vancouver announced at their annual Deanery service on June 10th the appointment of Rev. Patrick Blaney as Priest-in- Charge effective September 1st. This is a composite position on a three-year term that includes a role on the Regional Team for the Deanery of North Vancouver. A Eucharist celebrating Patrick's new ministry is scheduled for Wednesday, September 26th, 7:30pm at St. John the Evangelist, North Vancouver.
Patrick’s term at St. Thomas’s, Vancouver, was soon to expire. That Parish will consult with the Bishop later this month about process towards a new appointment.
