Christ Church, Hope the oldest church in the Diocese of New Westminster and in fact the oldest church on the BC mainland became a Canadian National Historic Site in 1995.
One of the features of the church are the distinctive diamond shaped window panes shipped for installation in the church from England via the Cape Horn in 1861. (See the accompanying photos)
2011 marks an impressive milestone, 150 years!
The first celebration is the Christ Church Annual Flower Festival, scheduled for June 25th and 26th.
On the Saturday, the celebration will offer historic tours through the Church, an array of floral arrangements and art on display, and a traditional Afternoon Tea.
