England's celebrated vocal ensemble Siglo de Oro brings a programme of Renaissance and modern sacred music to St James' Anglican Church for their Canadian debut in Vancouver as they commence their 2024 Canada and USA tour.  Formed by London students in 2008, the group's name refers to the Golden Age of the 16th and 17th centuries, but its repertory has always extended beyond that specialty

Indeed, for their concert at St James' the immaculate voices of Siglo de Oro present a vibrant programme of Renaissance music by composers such as William Daman, John Sheppard, Jean Mouton, John Browne, Thomas Tallis, Martin Peerson, Vicente Lusitano, Jacobus Clemens non Papa, and the eclectic composer 'Anonymous,' as well as contemporary compositions by Herbert Howells, Kerensa Briggs, Derri Joseph Lewis, and Arvo Pärt.
