Start the new year by making a dream catcher for your home. Join us on January 13 at 10am at the Synod Offices as we are honored to once again learn from Michael “Sabian” Rawcliffe * who will lead this workshop. Participants will each make a dream catcher under Sabian’s guidance.
*Michael “Sabian” Rawcliffe is of Algonquin / Métis heritage from the Hull, Quebec region, but grew up in a Chippewa community in Southern Ontario. He relocated to a Northern Minnesota Ojibway community, where he learned the art of beadwork and developed a fascination with dream catcher weaving during the cold winters before moving back to Canada’s West Coast. He developed skills in drum and rattle making while living in the Sts’ailes territiry before moving to Chilliwack to study Coast Salish art design from a respected Salish carver/painter. Michael “Sabian” has been developing his own style of artwork incorporating dream catcher weaving into his drums, beadwork and rings.
