The Bishop of New Westminster seeks to appoint an Archives Administrator for the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster. This is a part-time, contract position, housed at the Synod Office: 1410 Nanton Street, Vancouver, BC.

The purpose of this position is to maintain and administer the Archival programs for the Diocesan Synod & the Provincial Synod and their records as laid out in the Canons and Regulations governing each respective Archives. It also involves facilitating information and research requests from the community. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Appraise, acquire, arrange, describe, conserve and provide access to the archival records of the Diocese of New Westminster and the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia
  2. Administer the archives space and program
  3. Respond to queries from both internal and external researchers
  4. Develop and administer digital records management program
  5. Recruit, train and supervise archives’ volunteers and any temporary contract persons or work experience students 
  6. Maintain relationships/conduct outreach and create connections with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Master’s of Archival Studies (MAS) degree or Information Studies degree with Archives concentration
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Archival work
