Church of the Holy Trinity in White Rock, BC is seeking a part-time Children, Youth & Families minister to support our growing parish community.
The Big Picture
The Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity, White Rock, BC is growing. We offer two Sunday morning services at 8 a.m. and at 10 a.m. with an average Sunday attendance of 80. We also have a mid-week Eucharist at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays. As our mission statement says: “In Christ we are a caring community seeking and welcoming others to join us on our faith journey.”
With the Covid years behind us and, with the appointment of our new Rector, Fr. Joe Dirbas, our parish-by-the-sea is ready to take the next step in spiritual formation by establishing a Children, Youth and Families ministry (CYF). If you are a creative individual who will share our vision, with passion and devotion, we would like you to consider sharing your leadership gifts to help us grow deeper in our commitment to the spiritual development of our children, youth and families.
A Close Up of CYF activity
The Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity is a liturgically traditional parish. We are investing in our music program and look forward to offering a chorister program for the youth of our parish and the wider community. We encourage children and families to participate in worship as we believe that the best formation for our young people is to engage with the liturgy. We recently included youth acolytes in our Sunday morning services.
Once a month we offer a “Family Sunday” which features a children’s sermon and schedules children as readers in the service. On other Sundays, we offer a worship option called “Children’s Chapel” which occurs between the Collect and Offertory. In “Children’s Chapel” the children hear a children’s sermon, they read the creed from a picture book, and offer their prayers together.
