Children’s Circle in Chilliwack for Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023 at St. Thomas’, Chilliwack Laura Rosengren shared the triumphal entry story with the children. The congregation were invited to wonder about the story anew. 

We wonder why we read and listen to the same stories year after year and enter into the same rituals every Lent and Holy Week. Perhaps in the rhythms of the ‘ordinary’ we are created to long for something more – for what is new or next, along with what is ancient and true – where we once again discover what is extra-ordinary and touches our lives again and again. May it be so. 

Everyone ‘wondered’ with the children at the triumphal entry story as Jesus entered Jerusalem. We wonder what kind of king is Jesus. What kind of kingdom did Jesus bring us. What does this story tell us today?
