It was announced on Tuesday, May 19 that Archbishop Skelton will ordain three postulants to the diaconate at Christ Church Cathedral, Saturday, June 20 at 10:30am. They are Amanda Ruston, Stephen Black and Leah Skuro. Information about Amanda and Steve is available in the next paragraph. Leah Skuro has been in disecernment at All Saints', Burnaby and an intern at Holy Trinity, New Westminster. More information about the Ordination Eucharist will be circulated as it is made available, however there will be strict adherence to the social distancing directives and no more than 50 people (which includes Archbishop Skelton and the ordinands) will be permitted in the sanctuary.

As mentioned in the previous paragraph it was announced on Monday, May 4, that Archbishop Skelton has made Steve Black and Amanda Ruston, postulants effective April 28 and both are discerning their vocation to the priesthood. Steve is an intern with the Reverend Robin Ruder-Celiz at All Saints', Ladner and Amanda is an intern at St. Andrew's, Langley with the Reverend Andrew Halladay. Steve and Amanda join three other postulants in the diocese: Lorie Martin of the Parish of St. Dunstan's, Aldergrove and the St. Dunstan's Centre for Spiritual Renewal; Leah Skuro, liturgical assistant at All Saints', Burnaby; Jason Wood currently youth ministry coordinator at St. Laurence, Coquitlam and a member of St. Brigid's. Ordinations in the Diocese of New Westminster are scheduled for June 20, 10:30am at Christ Church Cathedral. Once the names of the ordinands are announced they will be shared through diocesan communications.

At the April 29 meeting of Diocesan Council, the governing body of the diocese (the Synod between Synods) it was announced that the Reverend Philippa Segrave-Pride, currently interim priest-in-charge of the St. Clement's, Lynn Valley has been appointed Chair of the Mission and Ministry Development Committee, one of the standing committees of the diocese.

Interviews for a new rector are currently underway at Church of the Holy Trinity, White Rock. The Reverend Arthur Nash is priest-in-charge until the appointment of the next rector.

The interview process has begun at St. Faith's. Gathering priest for St. Hildegard's Sanctuary, the Reverend Melanie Calabrigo is currently priest-in-charge.

Interviews are about to begin at St. Clement's, Lynn Valley. The parish is seeking a rector. The Reverend Philippa Segrave-Pride is interim priest-in-charge.
