TOPIC received four awards in the competition organized by the Anglican Editors Association this spring. About 25 Anglican diocesan newspapers are eligible to submit entries.

Prizes were received for the layout on a 2-page feature on AIDS in Africa (May 2003), and for a humourous article featuring the Minister's advice, "Minister's advice for a spiritually enhanced summer" (September 2003) in which for summer activities - which the Rev. Stephen Hersey advocated "skinny dipping."

Runner-up prizes were received for front page layout for the December, 2003, issue, and for an editorial, "Does an Anglican Church of Canada Exist" (December 23).

The awards were at the silver level, which is for newspapers which had not won in the various categories recently.
