Bright and early on Monday, October 17, 2022, the Reverend Phillipa Pride arrived at 1410 Nanton Avenue in Vancouver's Shaughnessy neighbourhood,  the home of the Synod Offices of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster. Philippa made the rounds and greeted members of staff.

Until the retirement of current Executive Archdeacon of the Diocese of New Westminster, the Venerable Douglas Fenton, Philippa's job title will be Special Assistant to the Bishop. The Rev. Pride will succeed the Ven. Fenton on January 4, 2023. However, she will be very busy for the next few months which will include "right off the bat" the National Conference of Executive Archdeacons taking place in Toronto, the week of November 7, 2022.

It is likely that Philippa will be collated and installed during the upcoming Ordination Eucharist scheduled for Saturday, December 3 at Christ Church Cathedral. All are invited to attend this liturgy which will begin at 10:30am.  Follwing the installation she will use the honorific the Venerable.

On October 16, Philippa completed her interim ministry as Priest-in-Charge of St. Helen's, Surrey. The Surrey parish in the Gateway neighbourhood very much enjoyed Philippa's time there (as did she) and were sad to see her go but grateful for the experience of having her as the ordained leader of their parish.

Prayers are encouraged for Philippa and Synod Staff as they embark on this next phase of their shared ministry.
