St.Timothy's, Burnaby in partnership with St. David's, Vancouver is initiating a 12 week Job Club course for persons who are under-employed or looking for more fulfilling work. Facilitated by Kevin Pidwerbeski, a Human Resources specialist, this series will help individuals regain self-esteem, assess passions and skills, rework resumes, and practice interviewing techniques. The Job Club began Monday September 28, and run for 12 weeks from 7:30 to 9 pm at St. Timothy's 4550 Kitchener Street, Burnaby, 604.299.6816. It is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation or work situation. A basic understanding of English is needed. Our building is handicapped-accessible and centrally located near the Brentwood station skytrain and major bus routes. The $12 registration is to ensure commitment to the whole process, not just drop-outs after a couple of weeks. A cup of coffee costs more than a loonie these days, and many job skills coaches charge far more for these valuable lessons. The course is limited to the first 30 registered, People are encouraged to phone if they are interested. ( a secondary course may be offered in January if there is sufficient interest and a wait list).
