The Diocese of New Westminster stretches from Powell River to the northwest all the way to Hope in the east. There are currently 62 parishes and 4 worshipping communities all part of the Anglican Church of Canada and the World Wide Anglican Communion.

Click the link to access the Find-a-Church pages where you will find 11 regional groupings each with 5-7 parish listings inside. Each regional grouping landing page has a description of the region and each parish page is linked to a map. There is also a "SEARCH" function for each regional group. Many of the parishes have posted schedule information regarding worship and events.

Services celebrated at diocesan parishes include but are not limited to:

  • April 2: Liturgy of Palms, Palm Sunday Eucharist (Holy Communion/Mass)
  • April 4 and 5: Tenebrae, Evening Prayer, Taize worship
  • April 6: Maundy Thursday Eucharist
  • April 7: Good Friday Eucharist; Stations of the Cross
  • April 8: Holy Saturday worship; Great Vigil of Easter
  • April 9: Easter Sunday; Sunrise services, Early Morning Holy Communion (often at 8am); Festal Eucharist (the principal Easter Sunday Celebration of the Eucharist; Evening Prayer; Compline).

The bishop will preach Easter Sunday at Christ Church Cathedral

Christ Church Cathedral welcomes a visiting teacher and preacher for Holy Week, Bishop J. Neil Alexander, who is Dean, Professor of Liturgy, and Quintard Professor of Theology, Emeritus, of the School of Theology at the University of the South at Sewanee.

Bishop Alexander will present two free public talks at the Cathedral, 690 Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver, Tuesday, April 4, 1:30pm and Thursday, April 6, 6pm.
