The Archbishop has appointed the Reverend Marion Wong as priest-in-charge of St. Matthias and St. Luke effective November 20, 2018, and following which Marion will continue as 1/2 time vicar at St. Matthias and St. Luke beginning January 1, 2019. Marion will succeed the Reverend Vivian Lam who begins her new ministry as rector of St. John the Apostle, Port Moody, November 20.
The Reverend Liz Hamel has been appointed as interim priest-in-charge of All Saints', Ladner on October 16, 2018. Archdeacon Elizabeth Northcott concludes her ministry at All Saints' on September 23.
Many of you by now will have hear about the Very Reverend Peter Elliott's retirement as dean and rector of Christ Church Cathedral, September 30, 2019. CELEBRATION OF A NEW DIACONAL MINISTRY
St John’s, North Vancouver will be celebrating a Service of New Ministry for their deacon (ordained June 23, 2018) the Rev. Juanita Clark. The service will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:30pm.
Please mark this in your calendars and join us in this celebration for the St John’s community and the North Vancouver Deanery. There will be a reception afterwards.
The next rector of St Alban the Martyr, Burnaby, the Reverend Greg Jenkins will be inducted on Tuesday, October 9 at 7pm. The preacher will be Greg's father, the Reverend Ray Jenkins. The liturgical colour will be green.
St Andrew, Langley will be the venue for a Celebration of New Ministry on October 10 at 7pm, when the Reverend Andrew Halladay is licensed as vicar. The Reverend Kristen Steele, pastor of Shepherd of the Valley (Lutheran) has been invited by the Archbishop to preach. The liturgical colour will be green.
December 11 at 7pm is the date set for the Induction of the Reverend Vivian Lam as the next Rector of St John the Apostle, Port Moody. Executive Archdeacon, the Venerable Douglas Fenton will be the preacher. The liturgical colour will be violet or blue.
