care+share receiving proposals for 2018/19

The Standing Committee on Mission and Ministry Development is now receiving proposals for the next cycle of ministry programming which will share in the funding from the Diocese of New Westminster’s voluntary giving program: care ╬ share.

The proposals must follow the Inclusion Guidelines, and be received to the Synod Office by close of business on Friday, March 31, 2017.

The program being proposed as a care ╬ share recipient must not be a pilot project but in its subsequent years of operation. The care ╬ share Inclusion Guidelines drawing on the Strategic Priorities recommend the program primarily contains a strategy for either “Addressing Issues of Poverty” or “Caring for God’s Earth.” Additionally, the following themes may also be included: “Nurturing Spiritual Journeys,” “Building a Community of Parishes,” and “Participating in Local Communities.”

The Standing Committee on Mission and Ministry Development will review the proposals and recommend to Diocesan Synod those best qualified under the Inclusion Guidelines. Diocesan Synod at its next meeting (May 26 and 27, 2017) will vote on the recommendations of the programs. The next cycle of funding is for two years; it will begin in January 2018 and end with December 2019.
