Anglican Church of Canada ministry returned on Sunday, June 5, to Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast and to Deep Cove in North Vancouver.

This summer, services at St. Andrew’s, Pender Harbour, are taking place at 4 pm Sunday afternoons. Officiating most Sundays will be the Rev. Mark Lemon, regional dean for Capilano-Kingcome.

At St. Simon’s, Deep Cove, the Ven. Dennis Popple will conduct services on Sundays at 10 am. The regional dean for North Vancouver, the Rev. Sarah Tweedale, remains as the priest-in-charge.

Lemon and Popple are available on Wednesdays in their respective church offices - at St. Andrew’s from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and at St. Simon’s from 9 am till noon. Those wishing to contact St. Andrew’s can call 604-885-5019. At St. Simon’s the new number is 604-929-3855, fax 604-929-3865.

In March of 2004 the former rectors of both parishes resigned from the diocese, but both continued to conduct services in the church buildings for 14 months. Efforts to resolve matters outstanding between them, their congregations and the diocese were unsuccessful.
