This year marks the 110th year of St. Paul's Church building and we are inviting you to celebrate this special occasion with us. This year our Summer Showcase starts from June 28, 2015 till July 12, 2015.  There will be a series of events and activities for the week.

From our traditional BBQ, to a walking tour, social dancing, movie night. summer serenade concert featuring a violin and piano duo, a cake and talk and many more.

All of these events are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

June 28th: Launch Party and Walking Tour - Outdoor BBQ after the 10:00a.m. service, celebrating the Patronal Feast Day of St. Paul. At Noon, a 45-60 minute guided tour of the building will take place, built in 1905. Walk will feature old stained-glass windows imported from England, ornate neo-Gothic architecture, and a historic pipe organ (with demonstration). To sign up, simply contact Michael Molnar to be added to the list!

July 1st: Canada Day Walk and Dance - 8:00p.m.-9:00p.m. Labyrinth showcase with open time for labyrinth walking after the Canada Day Parade! 9:00p.m. until late, social dancing!

July 3rd: Gala Movie Night - 7:30p.m. special film presentations by Historian Michael van den Bos of a classic cartoon in the old matinee style, followed by film-makers Ross and Maria Munro playing a ~7 minute documentary about cinemas in Vancouver ("Broken Palace", which played at the VIFF), ending with St. Paul's own Curtis and Silmara showing their 15 minute documentary about Vancouver's Hollywood Theatre. 8:30p.m. will be a "Name That Tune" film music contest with prizes. Dress up in apparel anywhere from 1905-2015!

July 5th: Cake and Talk - Birthday Cake after the 10:00a.m. service. At 11:45a.m. a presentation of music from around 1905 in the Sanctuary (featuring Kevin Zakresky), followed by a 25-30 minute talk from guest speaker John Atkin about Vancouver and the West End in 1905. Light refreshments available.

July 9th: Summer Serenade - Sanctuary Showcase with concert by a piano and violin duo from the Royal School in London. Erin James and Charis Hanning will be performing music by Brahms, Dvorak, and Beethoven, joined at the end by St. Paul's musical director (Michael Molnar) for a combined piece. Light reception to follow (photos attached)

July 12th: Closing Celebration - The Baltimore Boy’s Choir sings at the 11am eucharist. A toast, readings, and fun after the 11:00a.m. service to round out the merry-making. There might even be turtle races...
