Join us on-line for an evening of music and spoken word to celebrate Black History Month. The concert features renowned local artists Dee Daniels and Marcus Mosely accompanied by pianist Bill Sample.

THE ARTISTS

Dee Daniels: 

Dee Daniels is a unique talent who transcends musical borders when she brings her jazz styling, infused with gospel and blues flavoring to the stage. She performs and records globally with legends of jazz, symphony orchestras, big bands, and combos. The numerous honorary doctorates in fine arts and her induction into BC’s Walk of Fame and Vancouver’s Granville Street Walk of Fame are testaments to her dedication to her musical career. 

Marcus Mosely: 

Marcus is a member of the Entertainment Hall of Fame, The Sojourners (singing trio), and has sung throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the South Pacific, Australia and the Middle East.  

Originally from Ralls, Texas, Marcus grew up immersed in the music and culture of the Gospel tradition.  He moved to Vancouver in 1985 and became a Canadian citizen in 2008.  In 2016, he was inducted into the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Bill Sample:

With a career that has spanned four decades, Bill Sample is Vancouver’s “first call” musician, composer, producer, arranger and pianist, who has collaborated with the likes of Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, David Foster, Celine Dion, Brian Adams, to name a few. In 2003 he was inducted in B.C.’s Entertainment Hall of Fame, and has received many national awards, including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
