Mennonite Church of British Columbia Indigenous Relations Program in partnership with the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster Indigenous Justice Program would like to invite you to a discussion concerning "The Doctrine of Discovery" as its affects upon Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the world.

In following the Canada's Truth and Reconciliations Call to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights and Title of Indigenous Peoples, this historical document needs to be repudiated and so too the philosophy behind it. This will be the day's inquiry.

We will be presenting various video clips from keynote speakers in this area and some small discussions. A luncheon will follow.

AGENDA

  • Tour of the former Catholic Indian Residential School
  • THE DOCTRINE OF DISCOVERY - WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ME?
  • Luncheon

Admission: $15. Suggested Donation at the door.
