Anglican Church Women (ACW) is a national fellowship of women that works to support a variety of local, national and international projects that helps those who are in some way marginalized.
The ACW was founded in 1885 as the Women’s Auxiliary to the Domestic and Foreign Mission Society of the Church of England in Canada. The Women’s Auxiliary (WA) was established in the Diocese of New Westminster in 1904. Most frequently the WA called on whenever churches needed help fundraising for the needs of the church.
Over time the scope – and name – of the organization changed to reflect the fact that women are not simply an “auxiliary” to the church, but vital to its life and mission.

In the Diocese of New Westminster, the ACW undertakes several initiatives to support the church in the north, women in need, and marginalized women, men and youth trying to change their lives. The ACW also supports Mission to Seafarers, which aims to give crews working on ships a warm welcome and spiritual support.
The ACW has a multiuse space in Surrey, which allows us to gather items like toiletries and used clothing which are part of our efforts to support the groups listed above.
